Equiptment list

For our film opening to look continuous and professional we will have to use a range of equipment when filming to ensure there is good video and audio quality and the editing is in continuous prose. Before we begin to film we have decided to create a list of all the equipment we will need to make sure we have got all our equipment organised and ready for the day making filming a smoother progress.

The equipment we will be using to film is:
  • A DSLR camera we chose to use a DSLR camera as it allows us better quality video as opposed to using our phones or any other form of camera. Furthermore, when we film, it will auto focus whilst we film and has options to zoom ensuring that all of our footage will be in focus and in frame.
  • A Tripod the use of a tripod when filming will ensure all of our footage is steady and continuous creating a better viewing experience for our audience.
  • A Microphone: The use of a Microphone in our filming is very important as we need a high quality audio that we cannot obtain from using the camera alone. High quality audio is important in our film opening as if viewers cannot hear or understand what is being said they may miss out on crucial parts of the narrative leaving them feeling confused or disorientated.
  • We'll need studio/ artificial lights in our film opening as some of the areas we are filming in are indoors and we cannot rely on natural lighting alone to ensure that our setting is well lit. It is vital that our setting is well lit as the audience needs to be able to see everything included in the mise en scene such as props and costume to understand the narrative and without this lighting they may not be able to.
  • A Mac computer with the programme 'Final Cut Pro'. Final cut pro is the editing outlet we used to create our ident. We have also chosen to edit our film on final cut pro as it is the editing app we find easiest to use. We also think it has lots of useful functions for the editing of our film such as being able to lay 2 different types of media over each other and the ability to cut and crop clips
  • A Memory card so that we are able to keep all of our clips in one place.
  • A phone to record our 'Levictus' speech on and then upload to Youtube (therefore we will also need internet to do this).
