Ident analysis and creation

To create our ident we firstly bought in a video of ink dropping, which we converted, from YouTube. To be able to do this we had to watch a YouTube tutorial on how to do so. When we had bought the video into final cut pro we then edited down into 10 seconds from a 2-minute clip. We did this to make it look more professional. We then added in our text of our production name, ‘Invicta Pictures Productions’. To add this in we picked the text ‘echo’ an then edited the font and text size to fit with the theme of our ident. Finally we started looking at what music we wanted to include. We picked a relaxing sound to match the pace of the ink dropping. To do this we converted the music into a download on iTunes and carried it into final cut pro. When we had all of our content in the programe we began to edit it to how we wanted it. We added fade in and out effects onto our text and ink video and cut the amount of time that our text would be on the screen for.

The beginning of our ident consists of a plain white screen to make our ident look clean cut and professional.

Here we can see that 2 seconds into our ident, the ink begins to fall.

At 5 seconds, our production name begins to fade into the screen and the ink has fallen further down the screen.

At 8 seconds, the ink has fully fallen and the production name is fully visible on the screen.

At 10 seconds, the text and ink falling begins to fade away as the ident finishes.
